My Thirteen

To My Lord and Savior

A song came on today
Singing of God’s praises
And how this man was saved
As a boy of thirteen
And I got to thinking about
My own thirteen
When in April of 96
(I was actually eighteen)
Some good Christian friends
Took me to see a play
Heaven’s Gates Hell’s Flames
And when the altar call was
Given
I made my way up
Feeling a new purpose
A new drive
And that was the hour I first
Believed
And I felt the beauty of salvation
From that moment on.

I have not led a perfect life
Since then
I have fallen
And he was their to lift
Me up
At the hour I fell
And for that reason
I am blessed
And I am not perfect
But I am forgiven
Thanks to the moment
I lived my thirteen
(Although I was actually
Eighteen.)

“The song I believe was by Craig Morgan, I was listening to it this evening, while I was spending some quiet time with the Lord, laying there thinking of my blessings, and praying for healing, these words came early this a.m… “ But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. ”- 1 John 1:7 ”
