On her knees
I learned to read,
As she helped me learn
That letters formed words and words
Carried you on adventures.
On her knee’s
I heard stories
Of the days when she was younger
When movies were silent
And you only paid a nickel.
On her knee’s
I discovered what being a
Granddaughter was
With only the love
Nonna could give.
