He Shouldn’t Have Been There (Fictional Poem)

A place is missing,

At the table again,

Again this Christmas,

He should have been there,

Nothings been the same,

Since the towers fell,

And Christmases have turned,

Into a hellish affair,

He should have been here.

The call came,

Early that morning,

Someone called in sick,

Bill would take their place.

She turned on the television,

As the towers fell,

That morning,

He shouldn’t have been there…
