Book Review: Roots and Sky

Roots and Sky

A Journey Home in Four Seasons

by Purifoy, Christie

Pub Date 02 Feb 2016

I was given a copy of Roots and Sky through the publisher and their partnership with Netgalley in exchange for my honest review which is as follows:

Christie Purifoy arrives at Maplehurst Nine months pregnant with her fourth child.  She wants to turn this sprawling Victorian farmhouse that sits on top of Pennyslvanis Heal into a place where her family can grow.  When the daughter they name Else Spring is a few months old they sign the papers making the house their home.

After moving in she discovers the house is far from perfect.  Despite its age its remained unfinished.  She deals with this realization with a bit of dread.  Roots and Sky is a story of Seasons not only Seasons of the years but the Seasons of our moods as well.

Written beautifully and lyrically Roots and Sky is one of those books that pulls you in and doesn’t let go.

I give this book five out of five stars

Happy Reading…
