Book Review:Surviving the Angel of Death

Surviving the Angel of Death

The Story of a Mengele Twin in Auschwitz
by Eva Mozes Kor and Lisa Rojany Buccieri

Tanglewood
Biographies & Memoirs, Teens & YA

Pub Date 15 Oct 2009

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy of Surviving the Angel of Death through the publisher and Netgalley.

When  Eva was ten she was faced with life without her parents as they were taken to the Gas Chambrrs of Auschwitz while her and her Twin Sister fought daily for their lives while Dr. Josef Mengele performed one sadistic experiment after another on them.

She and Miriam were the youngest of four children.  They were given the things children could want and were doted on because they were the youngest and identical twins.

Eva talks about the stench of burnt flesh from the crematorium and the Gas Chambers, and the horrible conditions they were forced to live in.

This is a powerful story of survival against all odds.

Five out of five stars

Happy Reading.
