I am voluntarily reviewing a copy of That Burning Summer through the publisher and Netgalley:

This book takes us back to July, 1940,  when sixteen year old Peggy, and her eleven year old brother Ernest hear a crash out by the marsh.

Ernest is trying to make sense of what is happening in the world around him, he reads pamplets.

Peggy soon discovers a Pilot in the Marsh, a young polish naval airman named Henryk, the young pilot is afraid, and unwilling to return to the fighting.

Henryk soon finds himself hiding in a church.  Peggy sneaks food to him, risking everything.

Will Peggy fall for this forbidden airman?

Find out in That Burning Summer

Five out of five stars.

Happy Reading.
