Book Review: When the Past Won’t Let You Go

When the Past Won’t Let You Go

Find the Healing That Helps You Move On
by H. Norman Wright

Harvest House Publishers

Christian, Nonfiction (Adult)

Pub Date 01 Sep 2016

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy of When the Past Won’t Let You Go through the publisher and Netgalley.

The author points out the fact that our lives are built on the foundation of our past, but that does not mean our pasts were designed to limit our future.  In fact our pasts were never meant to limit our futures, but sadly many allow this very thing to happen.

This book points out God heals what is revealed,  Covering up versus cleaning up, when we just cover up instead of cleaning up we will get stuck.  We pass on what we have not cleaned up.  We are reminded too that the Holy Spirit gives strength to make peace with our past.  Biblical truth is the key to a life unstuck.  Freedom comes from surrender.

We are reminded too that in order to move past memory pain, we need to completely to terms with what happened.

We are reminded too that we have the ability to change our thoughts.

The importance of establishing a healthy approach to anger is also highlighted.

The author goes on to tell us “Hope is allowing God’s spirit to set us free and draw us forward.”

When the Past Won’t Let You Go is a book I’d recommend for anyone who needs healing from the past.

I give When the Past Won’t Let you go five out of five stars.

Happy Reading.
