God Why Is It

God why is it

When a friend is hurting

You hurt with them

And when they are crying

You cry too?

Lord how is it

You can bring someone into our

Lives

Whose face

We have not even seen

And suddenly they are our friend

And we are crying

When they are hurting

And rejoicing

When they are rejoicing?

God is it because

You want to show us

How to be the kind of friend

We should be

And love as you have loved.

It’s Capturing the Innocence

Autumeve What a face July.19.09

It’s capturing the innocence

Of life.

It’s embracing the gift

Of a child.

It’s a babies laughter

After tears.

It’s a dream

Lived and a memory made.

It’s the innocence

Of a childs face.

Lets sing a song

Of praise

To the creator

The giver of
All our days.

Lets dance

A Little dance

And spend a little

Time in worship

Let’s sing a song

Of praise

to the creator

Who has blessed us
In unimaginable ways.

The Same Hands

The same hands

That created this world

Hung on the cross

Nail pierced

Our Creator

Endured the Cross

For you and me.

The same hands

That took the dust from

The ground and created Adam

And took the rib from Adam

To give eve

Healed the lame

As he walked the earth.

The same hands

That created us

Formed us in the womb

Healed a blind beggar.

A Seed Cracks Open A Revelation Appears

I want to crack open those seeds and find Revelations…

Let me take a moment here to speak on the wonders of living a life for the Lord, and the gifts we are given.  I am not here to preach at anyone, just to share what has happened in my life and you can choose what you do with it.  I have read the word of God many times, but unlike Any other book it has allowed me to see things, and give me guidance in the decisions I made, and even if I read the same verse a hundred times, and not exactly understand what it is saying, it may be that one hundredth and one time, that the seed cracks open giving me a revelation!

Part of having Faith is reading the word, and that is where the seeds crack open.  In fact Reading the Word, and prayer are the two most important things in our faith:

Hebrews 11:6-10 (New International Version)

6And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

7By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.

8By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. 9By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. 10For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.

Faith in my own life has saved my life more times than i can count.  Without Faith I would not be able to do so many things, being a person with a Neuromusucular disorder should have taken so many things from me the ability to walk, even the ability to breathe, and yes I have troubles with both of those from time to time, still for someone with a NMD I am doing well.  I am not hospitalized, and for the most part I can care for myself, as well as help care for my twelve year old niece, all the things the Lord has blessed me with doing, that the world looks at me and says you should not be able to do that, but God’s plans are greater than the world’s plans.

One of the verses that early on cracked the seed open for me was that of Isaiah 40:31

Isaiah 40:31 (New International Version)

31 but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

My life verse, the verse I cling to, and through my darkest moments I remember it.  I am reminded often of just the strength that comes from the Lord, and I see it evident in so many lives.  My Spiritual Mentor Sister Ruth is only one amazing example of the things the Lord can get you through, I was privileged to be able to share a little of her story in my book With A Little Help, talking about the death of her daughter over thirty years ago is not easy for her, but she allowed me the honor of letting her story be told in my words, the details of course were hers, and the example of that amazing faith, that left her standing strong in the Lord despite everything was my pleasure.

I want to continue to crack those seeds of the word of God open, and find new Revelations that allow me to grow in Faith.

I Wish We’d All Been Ready

As I listened to DC Talk sing Larry Norman songs I Wish We’d All Been Ready, I am reminded of just how relevant the lyrics are for today.

This song was written by Larry Norman in the 1960;s but the lyrics are so relevant today. As Oprah likes to say after listening to this song I had an A Ha moment.

Life was filled with guns and war
And all of us got trampled on the floor
I wish wed all been ready
The children died, the days grew cold
A piece of bread could buy a bag of gold
I wish wed all been ready

(chorus)
Theres no time to change your mind
The son has come and youve been left behind

A man and wife asleep in bed
She hears a noise and turns her head hes gone
I wish wed all been ready
Two men walking up a hill
One disappears and ones left standing still
I wish wed all been ready

(repeat chorus)

The father spoke, the demons dined
How could you have been so blind?

(repeat chorus 2x)

I hope well all be ready
Youve been left behind [3x]

Early on in my Christian Walk I was blessed to have taken part in a Study of Revelation in the youth Group I attended. I look at those verses now and once again I am reminded of the things that have come to pass. But for me the thing that resognates in my mind right now is the words of Larry Normans song, A Piece of Bread, could buy a bag of gold, and in this faltering economy that is the way it feels.

Revelation 5
The Scroll and the Lamb
1Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals. 2And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?” 3But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. 4I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. 5Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

6Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits[a] of God sent out into all the earth. 7He came and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne. 8And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9And they sang a new song:
“You are worthy to take the scroll
and to open its seals,
because you were slain,
and with your blood you purchased men for God
from every tribe and language and people and nation.
10You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God,
and they will reign on the earth.”

11Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. 12In a loud voice they sang:
“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!”

13Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing:
“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!” 14The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.

At the Tomb

Matthew 28:1
After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.

At the tomb

Where Jesus body was placed

Mary Magdalene and the other Mary

Went to look and I would imagine

Pray

But as the tomb was rolled away

And Jesus sat on the stone

I can only imagine

What must have been

Going through Mary Magdalenes heart

I wonder what she thought as her eyes

Lay on the Savior but I would imagine

She thought

Who am I who deserves

Such Favor.

Mary Magdalene a women a Savior

Found a special place  with Christ

That day,

A woman who in time would be tainted

By rumors and inueda’s.

A woman they called a prostitute though

There was no biblical evidence of such

But Mary Magdalene that day

As the tomb rolled away

Saw the face of an angel

And later the face of the Risen Savior.

Sometimes its in the Things Not Said

These words were inspired by a brief conversation I had with Mrs Sheryl and Kaitlyn today…

Sometimes it is in the things

Not said

That you best get to

Know a person

Because it is then

That you learn the true

Definition of listening

And the kindness of words

That do not necessarily

Need to be spoken.

Sometimes its in the

Things not said

Its in the quiet of the moments

Where words are not spoken

We best learn to get to know

A person.

Because the Sacrifice Was Made

As I was sitting in church today listening as the Children were being taught about the sacrifices that had to be made before Jesus died on the cross the Lord put this poem on my heart.

Blood No longer shed

Because the sacrifice was made,

Nor a penace for sins

Because one shed his blood

A Sacrifice of his love.

Grace In Our Thorns

Finding Grace in our thorns perhaps doesn’t make sense in the minds of the world, but as Children of God, we only live in this world, we are not of this world. Christ can take those painful thorns and turn them into something postive, he can use our brokeness and make something beautiful out of it, perhaps that is why sometimes we do not get our prayers answered in the ways we want them to be answered, but really who are we to question God?

Is Grace best realized in our thorns?

Perhaps it is, perhaps it is thorns in our flesh like the crown of thorns on Christ’s head, represented our Saving Grace.

Psalm 130:3-4

3 If you, O LORD, kept a record of sins,
O Lord, who could stand?

4 But with you there is forgiveness;
therefore you are feared.

In her book Lessons I Learned in the Light Jenifer Rotshcild had this to say about Grace: “Healing can’t be compared to the Grace of God, alive in and art work in our lives. Comfort and stress relief and health and paild bills, can’t even be recored in the same ledger with the power of God surting through our brokeness, want and need and becoming perfect in our weakness.”

1 Corinthians 7:23

You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men.

“The grace of Jesus is better than everything. God’s lovingkindness is better than life itself. Don’t settle for a merely adequate and temorary answer to your prayer, when God may be granting the deeper gift of Grace.” Rothschild

Powerful words right? Perhaps it goes with being careful what we pray for, or to put it more aptly, being careful how we pray. There is of course nothing wrong with praying for healing, but sometimes the good Lord answers our prayers in different ways than we expect. There are many who have prayed for healing , but did not receive it, Joni Eacerson Tada went to such renowened faith healers as Katherine Culman but did not receive a physical healing, yet the Lord uses her ministry to touch millions.

Grace in the thorns!

1 Peter 1:18-19

18For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, 19but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.

“And sometimes. perahps even most times gracies is best realized in our thorns.” Rothschild
